CEI repairs damaged and worn tooling in our in-house tool maintenance department providing sharpening, broken punch replacement, & cleaning

Tool and Die

At CEI, our talented team in the Tool & Die Repair & Maintenance Department, along with experienced toolmakers and design team, can get your broken tools up and running right away.  CEI understands the importance of producing the parts you need on time.  Let us help you find a solution.

Customers have come to CEI with destroyed tooling seeking a solution. CEI repairs small problems such as cracked stripers, broken punches, and worn out die inserts to large problems of shattered inserts and missing components.  CEI utilizes Reverse Engineering to refurbish a tool like new when critical information is not readily available.

After building or repairing a tool, CEI will set up a routine maintenance schedule to help extend the life of the tool, and make sure parts stay in spec.  CEI utilizes several practices to reduce repair time such as:

  • Maintaining a large inventory of punches
  • Retaining spare blocks with provisions for spare die inserts
  • Fabricate inidual die-set shim packs

Die History Charts are kept on file to keep track of all work performed on a tool.  This schedule allows our Maintenance Team to follow a repair plan of action even while tool is still in service, minimizing downtime from a matter of hours in most cases.
