In-Die Insert Metal Stamping
CEI can eliminate the costly secondary operations by using our proprietary in-die progressive metal stamping insertion processes
What is Insert Metal Stamping?
Insert Metal Stamping is a progressive metal stamping specialty in which an object, such as a ball bearing, wire form, or PEM Nut in inserted in a designated stamping station, eliminating the need for a secondary operation and reducing manufacturing costs.
CEI offers a variety of insert metal stamping possibilities. We have the ability to eliminate secondary operations by assembling inserts in the progressive tooling, eliminating the need for secondary operations. All insert tooling designed by our experienced design engineers and manufactured in-house by our talented toolmakers. All of our metal stamping is to meet our customers’ needs and expectations.
Examples of items that have been requested by CEI and implemented in progressive tooling includes: ball bearings, rivets, screws, PEM nuts, silver solder, and wire. CEI’s goal is to produce your parts with limited or no component design changes, if possible. However, design assistance is always available to make your design manufacturable. Please see our sample images for insert metal stamping examples.
Customers in the automotive, aerospace, industrial hardware, and even surgical industries have come to us with these challenges. Nothing leaves our facility unless it’s been thoroughly inspected and meets all requirements agreed upon.
