Component Engineers Inc. is an ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 registered CNC Turning component supplier.
What is CNC Turning?
A manufacturing process where a cylindrical work piece is held in a rotating chuck, while a cutting tool is fed into the piece to produce the desired shape.
The CNC Machining department at Component Engineers Inc. (CEI) is staffed with experienced and skilled machinists that program CNC lathes and produce precise parts as per our customer’s requirements. We employ a full line of super-precision CNC Turning centers loaded with the latest in CNC technology.
Our CNC Turning Equipment
We operate five 2-axis turning centers for smaller components & secondaries as well as a Puma S240MS 3-axis machining center for more complex machining. Using the latest design and CAD/CAM software, our CNC lathes cut and produce components with tight tolerances, close concentricities, fine finishes, and complex features. CEI also has Swiss Machining & CNC Milling capabilities.
Our CNC turning machines have integrated bar feeding systems for speed and support bar stock material of up to 2.5″ in diameter. Our machines are also equipped with a live tooling option that facilitates off-axis machining operations such as mill drilling. This eliminates the need for secondary operation setup and reduces production lead times. We can produce components from .0625″ to 7″ in diameter.
Full Service Manufacturing
All manufacturing plans are developed according to strict customer specifications. We typically machine parts used for a variety of applications such as shafts, spindles, pins, tubes and rings, and can handle both large and small volume production orders with high accuracy.
We work with all common metals including aluminum, brass, steel, stainless steel, and titanium in both bar form & tubing. In addition to manufacturing, we also provide a variety of value-added services such as grinding, polishing, centerless grinding, cold heading and heat treating.
All departments at CEI utilize Kanban and JIT (Just-In-Time) production systems to assist our customers with inventory control needs.
Our CNC department runs 24 hours a day, Seven days a week, and is fully integrated with our Quality Control Department to assure that all features and part dimensions meet specifications. All production jobs are monitored in real-time by utilizing in-process SPC data collection. CEI will also handle custom packaging and delivery requirements if required.
