(CEI) was founded in January 1980 in New Britain, Connecticut by Ronald Hansen, Sr. and Leonard Ceravone, Jr. By 1989 CEI had increased its customer base necessitating a move to a larger facility in Wallingford, Connecticut. CEI worked to develop additional new core competencies over the next five years and, in 1994, the company moved again to an even larger building in Wallingford. This location is the current home of CEI. Steady growth since 1995 has resulted in an expansion and modernization program of this facility, from the original 13,500 square feet to the current 34,000 square feet. In early 2001, Ronald Hansen, Sr. and Leonard Ceravone, Jr. appointed Ronald Hansen, Jr. to oversee the operation of CEI. Ronald Hansen, Jr. began working at CEI when he was 16 years old, during days off and at nights after high school. After completing a formal apprenticeship program supervised by the state of Connecticut, he began to assume many different roles in the company, from toolmaker and wire operator to buyer and estimator. As a result, he garnered invaluable experience and knowledge of the company’s internal operations. This well rounded training program enabled Ron to lead the way for the technological development and building expansion that exists today. In 2002, Ronald Hansen, Jr. was named the President of CEI, a “hands-on” role that he maintains today. CEI has always concentrated on controlled growth of the company and now employs over ninety highly trained, efficient, and skilled iniduals.
